  • Email a short personal note inviting people to check out Hannahs Hundreds website and to donate through firstgiving.org . You may also use our ready-to-go email forward. Make sure to add your personal note as well.
  • Check you've emailed all the groups of potential supporters, apart from friends and family these might be colleagues, former colleagues, college friends, fellow members of church/clubs/PTA and encourage them to pass on the message to anyone else who might support your chosen charity. The internet really widens the group of people you might immediately think of; for example, friends, family and colleagues living in different parts of the US that you rarely see. Don't forget your friends and family abroad; friends, family and colleagues can give from anywhere. The Internet is global, so make the most of it!
  • Remember to send a little e-mail update on your progress. It's nice for those who have already supported your efforts, and a nudge for those who haven't contributed yet. You know what it's like: people mean to donate, but sometimes they don't quite get round to it on the first request! We know this works well from other people's experience.
  • Print out the Sponsor Me personalized flyer and snail mail to people in your address book, on your Christmas card list, or wedding guest list etc…
  • Clean out the closets and have a garage sale!
  • Ask family, friends, co-workers, and neighbors to save their coin change for one month. Then donate their coins towards fulfilling Hannah’s vision.
  • Sell baked goods at your school, church, club, or organization
  • Have a rock-a-thon with your group or organization. Get the rocking chairs, popcorn and movies and have fun!
  • Ask Business’ you frequent to donate and support the fulfillment of Hannah’s vision.
  • Setup a carwash with your organization or group of family and friends.
  • Rake leaves for an afternoon or a day.
  • Load up the lawn mower and start cutting grass. (After you ask for permission and a donation of course!)
  • Put up a lemonade stand…anywhere people are.
  • Wash windows for an afternoon or a day.
  • Make phone calls to people you know
  • Ask friends, family, co-workers, church members to pack lunches for week instead of eating out. Then donate their savings towards fulfilling Hannah’s vision.
  • Put up a donation box on your desk at work. Have fun and create something that people will ask about! That gives you the perfect opportunity to share Hannah’s vision and ask for support in helping to fulfill it. You can even simply print out our Sponsor Me personalized flyer and tape it to a box or container.
  • Change your email auto-signature at work and/or at home; after your name and title etc, add a line at the bottom including the address of (Hannah’s fund raising page). This will raise awareness of the event and ensure that every email you send out could prompt a possible donation. You can use this invite if you like email forward.
  • Put a notice up in your gym, church, college, children's school, place of work etc. and encourage people to donate online. You can use our downloadable Sponsor Me personalized flyer.  Make sure to write in your name so people know what to write in the comment box with their donation.
  • Ask to be on your company's website! See if your company would be prepared to add our weblink (www.hannahshundreds.org) to its public website or private company intranet. Many companies like to promote the charitable and public spirited efforts of their staff and you could get a lot of extra donations from this.
  • Ask your place of work to match your fundraising efforts. Some companies may even offer a "matching gift" program where they offer to match any amounts you have raise, so this action could help you reach your target even faster.
  • Remember to encourage your children to help fundraise too. They are great promoters, and people love to help kids whenever they are out fundraising. It is also a great opportunity to teach them some important things and skills about life!
  • What else can you think of?!???

Always encourage people to ‘pass on’ the information about Hannah’s Hundreds, World Vision and the Bike-A-Thon! Whether by email, phone, or in-person. It only takes a few minutes to share Hannah’s story or to pass information along. This can make a BIG difference in the dollars that are raised for another well of clean water!

The key is to ask! The answer is always no, unless you ask!

Have fun and good luck!

Please remember to thank your contributors.
